Responsibility

Seems that many people do not give a damn on telling anyone about why they can't make it for any training. This makes my life really difficult when I have to take attendence. If you are unaware of punishments, These are the ones we honour
  1. absence without a valid reason: 50 push ups
  2. this amount will build up such as if you are absent for 10 times, it will cost you 500 push ups. This "debt" is to be cleared on the next training you attend. I believe you don't want to do such a additional set of training

Thus, please provide a valid reason on the reflection blog. Or have the kindness to tell a captain so that we know your reason for your absence.

Reasons given put you at an advantage over those who did not provide a good reason. thus you can have chances to evade punishment.

Do consider seriously

Just think

So do you feel that deliberate capsize is fun? if you hit your head on a rock and you are not seen, the team would not be able to help. Or if you are not properly wearing the lifevest and you capsize, then if your lifevest slipe off you, then you will have a slim chance of survival.

The team is not responsible for your life especially if you deliberately want to endanger it. The most we can do is to carry out reasonable actions.

I recall the time which I did not wear a lifevest onto the pontoon and Mr Ng pumped me. Whenever I think back, I will be grateful for the fact that he carried out such a punishment. Because I knew that should someone carrying a boat bumped into me and I fell into the water, I may have not survived. That's why I emphasise so much on safety.

I also understand that sometimes it is out of fun do you deliberately capsize. T2 will never capsize unless you play the fool. I cannot understand how it occours, but what i can gurantee is that you would never want to do something to harm your life. It is just like a drug addict knowing that consuming drugs but is forced to consume due to addiction.

the people, who delibrately capsized on Thursday's kayaking session, need to submit a reflection and an apology letter to DBcchy@gmail.com by this Tuesday 26 May 2009.

Training on thursday

Let me look back:

  1. Our new (temp) members from volleyball came to join in. I am happy for that issue.
  2. They didn't know the rules so they deliberately capsized thier T2 and made lots of noise.
  3. They spent more than 10 minutes to bail out water.
  4. They did not immediately board the kayak but made lots of noise.
  5. When we are supposed to return all our equipment, Mr Toh asked everyone to move things back, people strolled and things were kepy very slowly
  6. They spent lots of time before debrief started.
  7. Many of us were thus caught in the rain
So look back. Its very unfair to those who moved quickly and wanted to do things fast. If you can do it fast, we can go fast.

Think back and reflect in the C box.

Another matter: Someone has been striked off the list for absence. Thus, You guys have to take it as a learning exparience and do not miss trainings
